VITA COCO’S B-CORP STORY

WHAT IS A B-CORP?

The core of our business has always been people and coconuts, so we’re always striving to look out for our planet and its inhabitants, while making products that taste good, do good, and help you get the most out of life!

In 2023 we completed the rigorous B Corp recertification process and increased our B Corp score to 103.1, growing our score by 21%since 2019.

Our journey to better business

2003

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Humble beginnings in Brazil. Vita Coco is started with a simple idea, bringing coconut water to the streets of NYC.

2014

VITA COCO PROJECT LAUNCH

Realise the impact we’re having on our coconut farming communities so we launch the Vita Coco Project together with our partners to invest in and impact 1 million farmers around the world. More then a coconut water business.

2019

B CORP CERTIFIED

We become one of the first UK brands to become B corp certified, making impact in our local communities in London as well as those where we source our coconuts. Ensuring everyone in the business makes an impact through volunteer days and a tone of employee benefits.

2023

B CORP RE-CERTIFICATION +26%

We re-certified our B corp status, and increase our score by a huge 26% as a result of the increased impact the business is making in all areas of the re-certification process. Such as improved maternity pay, and improving sustainability across our supply chain.

Our B-CORP CHAMPS

B Corp to us means working as a business to be as transparent as possible, whilst also making a positive difference in communities…whether that be in coconut farms in Sri Lanka, or schools in the Islington borough, it is about giving back as much as possible and making a difference. As a team we do this by organising volunteering days and fundraising activities for our colleagues to get involved in. We also raise awareness of what the broader business is doing to give back and we discuss and action what more we could do.
